About Santa Fe: Museums and Art

Santa Fe Museums

It’s always fun to travel into the history of our ancestors by visiting museums.  Some of our favorites are the following:

Georgia O’keeffe Museum
217 Johnson
Georgia O’Keeffe is a well know artist in Santa Fe.  Her paintings are among the favorites in Santa Fe with her bold colors, and big flowers, landscapes and canyons which surrounded the area around her home in Ghost Ranch, north of Abiquiu.

El Rancho De Las Golondrinas
La Cieneguilla, 334 Los Pinos Road
This is one of my favorite museums to visit during one of their “Living History” weekends.  Check out their schedule and take the entire family for an adventure into New Mexico’s past where costumed villagers, friendly animals and hands-on activities make history fun for everyone.  You may learn how to make a rope, make tortillas, make and adobe brick, watch a blacksmith make a horseshoe, spin some wool into yarn, take a ride on a wagon, make your own lavender wand, make a corn husk doll and/or enjoy a performance. You can stroll through 200 acres learning about life in Spanish Colonial and Territorial New Mexico.
