Like her father, Susan is a good listener, a good problem solver and quickly became an expert in property management, leasing, and sales in the Santa Fe area.  She purchased the business, changed the name and has now been in Real Estate for over 35 years.

Susan is married to Michael Varela, who has retired from government, and is now the Commercial Property Manager for Varela Real Estate, Inc.  They have two children:  Phillip Varela, son and Broker Associate, Sharon Williard, daughter, married to son-in-law Clay Williard, and Kara, Nate, Ariana and Catherine Williard, grandchildren from Sharon and Clay. 

Susan loves the beautiful New Mexico mountains where she spends alot of her time hiking and skiing (both downhill and cross-country.) She also looks forward to her annual 4-5 day river trip down the Chama or the San Juan.

Leslie was born and raised in Kansas City, MO and attended the University of Missouri.  She began visiting Santa Fe in l969.  Attracted to the climate and culture, she moved to Santa Fe in 1988.  Prior to pursuing a career in real estate, she worked in the finanacial investment industry from 1980-1993 and for a non-profit foundation from 1993-2004, giving her more than 25 years of accounting and financial management experience.  When she is not working, Leslie enjoys life with her son, Marty.  She loves tennis, golf and taking long walks in the arroyo behind her home.  Additionally, she can be found at home entertaining her extended family and friends, who visit Santa Fe regularly and rely on her to recommend the best that Santa Fe has to offer. 

Coming from a family of mortgage bankers, Leslie formalized her interest in real estate by joining Varela Real Estate as an associate broker in 2006.

Cari is a lifetime resident of New Mexico. She was born and raised in Roswell, NM and attended college at NMSU in Las Cruces, NM, where she continued to live for 19 more years. She began her real estate career at CENTURY 21 Drue Self Real Estate, Inc where she worked for six years. In 2006 she returned to Roswell to assist in the care of her parents, and worked at CENTURY 21 Home Planning for 3 years. In 2009 she relocated to Santa Fe where her boyfriend resided while he worked for the State of NM.
