Like her father, Susan is a good listener, a good problem solver and quickly became an expert in property management, leasing, and sales in the Santa Fe area.  She purchased the business, changed the name and has now been in Real Estate for over 35 years. 

As President of Varela Real Estate, Inc., she is always there for her associate brokers and customers, generously giving the guidance needed to help transactions go smoothly.

Her professional goals have always been for her Buyers, Sellers, Tenants, Landlords and Agents to become successful in the Real Estate business.

Susan’s love for her community has given her the opportunity to serve on many Boards, Committees and Councils:

Susan is married to Michael Varela, who has retired from government, and is now the Commercial Property Manager for Varela Real Estate, Inc.  They have two children:  Phillip Varela, son and Broker Associate, Sharon Williard, daughter, married to son-in-law Clay Williard, and Kara, Nate, Ariana and Catherine Williard, grandchildren from Sharon and Clay. 

Susan loves the beautiful New Mexico mountains where she spends alot of her time hiking and skiing (both downhill and cross-country.) She also looks forward to her annual 4-5 day river trip down the Chama or the San Juan.
