We’ve come a long way....since 1949. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all the longtime friends, customers and advocates for our business.
As an independently-owned family business, Varela Real Estate has served the residential and commercial real estate needs of Santa Fe families, neighborhoods, and business communities for over 70 years. We specialize in residential and commercial sales, leasing and property management, and we have developed a known reputation for exceptional service in real estate throughout the city. This company goes back three generations. My grandfather, Frank Gomez, developed a reputation of TRUST, INTEGRITY, and PERFORMANCE. His family, friends and community were most important to him. He set an extremely high standard of service for his clients and customers starting back when a half-acre lot in the South Capitol area sold for $1,100, a house could be purchased for $8,000, and you rented an apartment for $55 per month. My mother Susan Varela made her mark on the Santa Fe real estate market by selling real estate and managing property in Santa Fe for over 35 years. She was a philanthropist in our community, she cared about her clients. I looked at her as an amazing leader who carried herself with the highest poise, and she taught me much of what I know today. She worked tirelessly to carry on the same service to her clients as my grandfather while achieving the level of success that she acquired. I am Phillip Varela, and I am so proud to be the qualifying broker of the legacy that is Varela Real Estate. I have grown up in the real estate business. I started working under my mother at age of 12 helping in the office and landscaping the properties we managed. Today I pride myself on the knowledge that I bring to the table for my clients and the level of service that has been the foundation of our business through three generations. I have always noticed that our business takes on a different feel than any other business or company that I have worked for. We are a family, an independently owned business, and we care about each other and our clients. We have adopted all our associate brokers at our company as part of our family.
